DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE TRADE AND ACCOMMODATION BILLS

Image
Before diving into these differences, let us quickly tell ourselves what a trade bill is. A trade bill is a bill of exchange or a document ordering someone to pay a particular amount at a particular time that is used to pay for goods. If the trade bill is accepted, the buyer is getting credit from the seller. Having known this, let us go to the differences * Trade bills are drawn by creditors and accepted by debtors while accommodation bills are not drawn by creditors. * Trade bills are drawn against proper consideration while accommodation bills are drawn without any consideration. * Trade bill is a proof of debts while accommodation bill is not a proof of debts. Expected March Accounts May Spike Buying Interest As Volatility May Linge

Image
Market Update for June 27, 2018 Nigeria’s equity market at the midweek continued its volatility and side-ways movement, impacted by losses recorded by stocks across board, following which the benchmark index closed marginally lower in the face of mixed feelings as crude oil price remains above $70, while economic activities continue to slow down, despite the Presidential assent to the 2018 budget. There is also the prevailing wait-and-see attitude among the investing public, despite impressive earnings reports from Challrams and Tripple Gee to kick-off the inflow of March year-end accounts ahead of the statutory deadline on Friday, June 29, 2018 being the last working day of the month. The 3 kobo dividend by Tripple Gee should give insight into what the remaining companies like Honeywell, Flour Mills, University Press and Redstar Express will do, notwithstanding the fact that these companies are not in the same sector/industry. The NSE index opened the day’s tradi

Rising Oil Prices May Boost Govt Spending, As Investors Eye Dividend Stocks Market Update for Week Ended June 22 and Outlook for June 25-29 Recovery of Nigerian stock market was once again halted last week as it closed lower after a protracted correction and volatility spanning over five months, keeping many stocks undervalued. It has also created ample opportunities for bargain hunters who understand the importance of technical analysis in trading and investing to position lower and sell higher. Technical analysis enables you identify bottoming out and support levels that gives insight of accumulation phase of the market cycle, thereby putting money in the pockets of inventors at the mark-up stage. TREND REVERSAL

Image
A reversal is a change in the direction of a price trend which can be a positive or negative change against the prevailing trend. A reversal on the other hand can be referred to as a trend reversal, a rally or a correction. Simply put, a reversal occurs when a stock changes trend and starts to move in the opposite direction of previous price action. Psychologically, reversals can be incredibly difficult for even the most experienced investors to react to. This is because in the early stages of a reversal, the market still shows many indications of a continued move in the original direction. However, the sequence for the reversal is not always the same. Following a downtrend, the price may not make a higher high to spark the reversal. Instead, the price makes a higher low. The higher low indicates the trend may be in trouble. When the price starts to move higher again, it signals the downtrend is quite likely reversing. Investdata Academy

THE PROS AND CONS OF BETA

Image
These are a few advantages and disadvantages of using Beta. ADVANTAGES  * Beta is a useful measurement for CAPM * It is a straightforward, quantifiable measure of risk  * knowing risk levels is helpful when investing and determining cost of equity  DISADVANTAGES  * Beta looks backwards, which makes it less useful for predicting future stock movements  * Beta does not incorporate or account for new information  * For long-term investors, beta is not as useful, since it can change greatly over time. In the meantime, beta is a useful tool for determining short-term risk and for calculating quantifiable measures of volatility to aid in finding equity costs. Though, it has its pros and cons like any other investing tools, but can be a great way to establish the stability and the volatility in ones portfolio. Investdata Academy

How to Get What you want in Bear or Bull Market.

Image
Recently, my cousin came for a seminar at Opebi and afterwards, he decided to pay me a visit although he told 2 weeks earlier. In the course of our conversation, he complained bitterly about an idea he has been trying to communicate to his Boss on different occasions but it always ends in futility. So, I told him to try different approach and be optimistic about it. An optimist will stop doing the same thing because  1. He knows boss is a human, so he can be reached and inspired regarding the idea.  2. Try as many method as possible to make him accept his idea. This is no different from the stock market either in bull or bear market. If your strategy is not working, you have to be an optimist who will stop doing the same thing because you know people are still making good returns in a bear market. Then like the advice to my cousin, try as many method as possible until you find the most effective one and this can be done through further knowledge acq
