Access Bank Gets CBN Approval For Cameroon Subsidiary

The management of Access Bank Plc, on Wednesday, said it has received the blessing of the Central Bank of Nigeria via a “no objection” to its proposed expansion into the Republic of Cameroon.
In a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the bank, through Sunday Ekwochi, its company secretary, said the plan to set up a banking subsidiary in the country “is subject to the approvals of the regulatory authorities in the Republic of Cameroon.”
The move, which is awaiting regulatory approvals, the statement continued, is sequel to the bank’s strategic objective to become Africa Gateway to the world.
